About Kristin
Wellness Educator | Yoga & Fitness Instructor | Movement Professional
With more than 20 years of experience in fitness, wellness, and education, I combine science, movement, and mindfulness to help people better understand their bodies and build confidence through movement.
My Approach
I believe movement is a powerful tool for building strength, confidence, and connection. Whether someone is new to exercise, returning after a break, or looking for new ways to support their well-being, my goal is to create welcoming and empowering experiences where everyone feels supported.
My teaching approach is rooted in education. With a background in science education and a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and body mechanics, I help participants understand the "why" and "how" behind movement so they can connect with their bodies on a deeper level.
My Experience
I have been leading fitness and wellness programs since 2001, including personal training, coaching swimming and track, teaching yoga and Pilates, and developing specialized movement programs.

I have taught in classrooms, fitness studios, community settings, and wellness events, and have had the honor of presenting at yoga festivals and retreats across the United States, including Zion Yoga Festival, OM Festival, NEPA Yoga Festival, and Alaska Yoga Festival.
As a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), I enjoy sharing knowledge with both yoga practitioners and fellow instructors, combining my experience in movement, anatomy, and mindful practice.
I continue to pursue education and professional development because I believe great teachers are always learning. My goal is to bring evidence-based knowledge, compassion, and creativity to every class and program I lead.
Specialized Wellness Programming
In addition to my general fitness and wellness offerings, I have a special interest in supporting individuals affected by cancer and major life transitions.
I am a CancerFit Trainer, Mindful Yoga for Cancer Instructor, Livestrong at the YMCA Instructor, and co-founder of REVIVE: Support for Cancer Recovery with my long-time friend and colleague, Jo Anna Hopkins. Through CancerFit, I am honored to partner with Mount Nittany Health Oncology to provide supportive movement and wellness programming for individuals navigating cancer treatment and recovery.
Beyond Wellness
After more than 20 years as a secondary science educator, I now serve as the Education and Outreach Coordinator at the Penn State Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum & Art Gallery, where I create educational experiences that inspire curiosity and discovery.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy exploring new places and spending time outdoors. I have traveled to 45 states, including many adventures with my gray tabby cat, Lavender, who has joined me on road trips all over the U.S.
